Deal of the century!

So here it is 11pm again – I wish I could stay up later, because that seems to be when I really get in the mindset to write. Unfortunately the day job doesn’t allow for that. Blah.

I had another good day today, I got the laundry done, got the majority of the homework for my color theory class (that I’m no longer really interested in since I started writing again) done, and I went to an art tag sale with my dad. It was a sale of all the supplies and a lot of the artwork of a local woman who passed away recently. Dad and I went for the supplies – he for calligraphy pens and I for whatever struck my fancy. It was a small room (perhaps 10′x12′) where they had all the supplies, and I think all of the 30 or so people who had lined up waiting for the doors to open made a beeline for the supplies. Dad didn’t make it far with that many people crammed into a small space, he wound up in a corner and didn’t move. I was able to keep up with the flow in order to make my way around the room twice though, and I manage to find some awesome stuff. I found an old wooden wine box filled with calligraphy pens and inks for Dad – it was $5 and probably had at least $150 worth of stuff in it. I came away with a set of watercolor pencils that are worth $60 new for $4 – and they’ve barely been used, I don’t think any of them have been sharpened. I also picked up a watercolor technique book for a buck, and Dad gave me a set of drawing pens and a couple other various pencils and brushes he found in his box of treasures that he had no use for. So all in all, we spent a total of $10 and made out like bandits!

So it was definitely a good day, I even had time to squeeze in a nap! Now, unfortunately, its time for me to go to bed and get ready for hell-day at work tomorrow. I need a vacation.
